Hi, I'm Chloé Minyon, an artist and designer from London, England, now based in Richmond, Virginia.
English Tea Paperie is my studio, where I create original paintings, hand-painted pieces, and small collections, alongside a limited number of personal commissions and bespoke wedding projects.

I'm drawn to old buildings, gardens, birds, and antique shops that require a second lap. I love intricate details, unexpected color combinations, and things with a little character.

English Tea Paperie began as a bespoke wedding stationery studio, and for years I've painted venues, flowers, and personal details for couples celebrating their love.
That work has taught me a great deal about paying attention, craftsmanship, and creating something people feel deeply connected to. It also gives me a foundation for the work I'm making now.

Today, original art and collections are at the heart of the studio. I'm making more room to choose my own subjects, explore ideas, and spend time with the paintings that I've wanted to create for a very long time.

I still love the personal connection of commissioned work, and select wedding projects and house & pet portraits remain a part of what I do.​

You may know me best for my wedding watercolors. You might also have found me through a ceramic ghost dressed in loose acrylic florals. Both are very much my work.

I enjoy the focus of painting a bird's markings or the windows of an old house, just as much as the freedom of painting expressive flowers across a ceramic surface. As I develop new collections, I'm allowing both styles of painting room to grow. What connects the 2 are my love of color and the pleasure of making something you'll want to keep looking at for years to come.

Beyond the studio.
My journey from London to Virginia involved summer camp and a Southern boy (who became my husband!) These days, home is a cottage on the corner, and my English roots have a solid say in my taste and style, from decor to clothing.
Outside the studio, you'll usually find me browsing antiques, visiting a museum or garden, or taking photos of architecture.

I believe choosing art should be personal and uncomplicated. You might be reminded of somewhere you love, recognize a favorite bird, or simply find yourself drawn to a particular shade of pink. Any of those are a good place to start.

I hope to make work that earns a place in your home simply because you love it.​ So make yourself a cup of tea and wander for a while. There's art to explore, work in progress to share, and always something new to catch the eye.
